2013 SXSW is going to be nutso!

So in addition to these 3 listed above (Ultra showcase, Pandora Radio Discovery Den, AM only), I will be playing the #FEED powered by Twitter showcase with Flying Lotus and Super Party (which has everyone playing.. Major Lazer, Danny Brown, Wavves, Baauer, everyone else).  Details on my website

MY GOALS FOR MY SETS:
Since I am playing so many, some will be more DJ sets (my selections) others will be more like my solo shows, some like both.  I imagine that the Ultra showcase will be my more bassy selections, AM only will be my more upbeat selections, Pandora and Feed parties will be like my shit only.   Super Party.. I am going to wing it.  Also, some of the acts I’m playing with will be super dope at these.  So you have many options :)

SEE YOU GUYS THURRRRRR.

My second single was released today “Go With it” featuring the ever talented @MNDR. I’m really happy with it and hope you guys like it too.

Support if you like it and take the song with you :)

shortydoowop asked: Hi Toki! I'm a huge admirer/supporter of your sound and am learning the ins and outs of the entertainment business. My question is, do you always practice legalities when it comes to sampling? As far as my knowledge goes, you must receive permission from the original composer, letting them know which part of the song, how many seconds and how it's being used. Do you follow these rules to avoid legal issues?

i hardly sample anymore.  however, a good way to avoid legalities and work around actually using samples is to replay the melodies yourself and make changes.  otherwise, yes, i’d need to get permission from whoever owns the catalogue of the artist i am sampling.
